In "Trends," we will present various topics related to the current form of education that uses Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

Arizona State University, in partnership with edX (one of the well-known MOOC platforms), has offered freshman level courses through MOOCs since 2015. This is called "Global Freshman Academy (GFA)."

In GFA, students who take the courses and achieve a certain passing grade at the end of the course period will earn not only the courses' verified certificates, but also the university credits at a fraction of the cost.

GFA takes advantage of online education and one of the GFA courses, "College Algebra and Problem Solving," utilizes adaptive learning and provides each student with personalized learning experiences through assessment of individual student's learning data (click here for more detail).
